Evolution of The Band
The band was started when Brian MacAdam and I wanted to get some shit together and create a garage band. We later learned that we dont have a garage. We made some calls and got Blake O'Brien to play bass guitar and Ingham Ramsay to play the turntables. As well as Brian and I playing the guitar and vocals. The band was intended to be an alternative rock band and I chose to give it the name The Abyss.We waited for a couple of months to see how the band would turn out and weather or not we could find a drummer. Brian had found Sebastian Bilodeau to be the drummer who was to later be replaced by Matt Culleton. Sebastian had wanted to be the vocalist and since Brian had been getting on everyone's nerves I kicked him out and let Sebastian be the vocalist. When Sebastian came back to the band he had changed the name to The Dark Abyss. After a couple of weeks Brian was really determined to become the vocalist once again so he faught with Sebastian for the position and had became the vocalist once again. Once again however Brian got on my nerves and was kicked out and was not permitted back into the band. Brian went on to form a band of his own, the band know as Chemical Nova, which was in later days changed to Angelic. Blake had quit the band to be the lead guitarist in the band Mercury which had later split up and and Blake decided to join Angelic. Angelic was later split up and might not get back together. I decided that the band was going to be a heavy death metal band and to change the name to Cryptic Ritual. Matt had changed to the position of the guitarist for the band. I looked for new member for the band and found Chris Gardsmith to play the bass guitar and Pat Ferrish to play the drums. Chris had later resigned as the bass player. Matt was no longer needed in the band so he was relieved. Kris Feng and I will play the roll of lead guitar until he moves to Ontario, and I will try to learn how to sing metal. We are making some music and writing some songs. Earon Benoit was the drummer for a short period of time but moved to Ontario. Chase MacDonald has become the new drummer along with Kent Bernard on the bass guitar. We still don't have a name picked out for the band yet.
